Parijo
At a time where Afghan music, song, historic, cultural and artistic values have burnt in the flames of annihilation to ashes, like a phoenix, Pari Joo has arisen like a mythological bird to offer new beginnings. “Thou shall not die, if thy heart is enlivened with love”
Pari joo has three major characteristics:
1- It is the presentation of a new form of song formed from a connoisseur’s knowledge of Afghan music
2- It is the tasteful selection of the words of various poets put in harmony with the spirit of the music
3- It is the successful extraction of new songs from the depth of Hazara culture
With the exception of a Pashtoo lyric arranged and accompanied with Hazara music, and the first part of “Nagara” all of the lyrics and music are new and composed by Dawood Sarkhosh.
“Pari Joo” (Fairy) came out in 2000 in England. This is Sarkhosh’s 2nd Album.
